Im the type of girl that loves hanging out with her family and friends because they play a big role in her life, and likes staying active by playing sports. Loves to try new things and never gives up. To get to know her takes time, but she'll come around, the shyness will fade away. I am fun to be around and am a really good friend when you need someone to talk to. I am 17 years old and I attend James A. Garfield High School. I am a great student and I always do the best I can. I love to volunteer and give back to my community. I like to stay involve both inside and outside of school.

- Gear Up is a tutoring program after school. I've been involved in it since 6th grade and will continue through high school. It has helped me with school work. Field trips are provided to different Universities and colleges.

- I play soccer and softball; I've gone to the play-offs and the championship. I've learned to work and cooperate in a team.

- Gear Up Leadership Council 2009 to 2011
- I was the Treasurer and Historian for the GEAR UP club. Planned Shakey's Night Fundraisers. Promoted a healthier lifestyle with a $500 grant.

- I got to be part of an organization that helps the poor. Giving food to those how need it is a good thing for our community. I would love to go again and keep help the need.
- East Los Angeles Women's Center
- I got to work with children that are in the need of everybody's help. We provided them with candy and food. They had lots of fun and I do think they enjoyed themselves like we did. I would love to go.

- We take children home, after having them picked up in th emorning to come to Junior Church at Pacific Baptist Church. And let them know about the word of God.

On the day of the East Los Angeles Classic, I received Jose Huizar's Scholarship for demonstrating a desire to giving back to my community after college.

I was given this honor for being in the top ten in the Class of 2012, with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and exceeding great achievements academically.
Magnet Service Award
I received this award twice, one in my tenth and eleventh grade for having taken the role of class representative in the Magnet Advisory Council.
Dean’s Honor List
In enrollment to the East Los Angeles College, I achieved this honor for having received an A on both Health 11 and Child Development 2, and having a 4.0 GPA.
2009 Youth Hero Award Finalist
I was nominated by GEAR UP to the City Scholar Foundation. It has a one year process, had a mentor for a day, and went through an interview.
