Wofford College

(Spartanburg, SC)

Wofford College, where taking chances is all part of the plan!

We are an independent liberal arts college, and we offer bachelor's degrees in 26 major fields of study and are well known for our programs leading to graduate and professional studies (medicine and other health professions, law and the ministry). Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the college is committed to quintessential undergraduate education within the context of values-based inquiry.

Wofford is located a few blocks north of the central business district of Spartanburg, S.C., an international commercial center. We have an excellent study abroad program, a unique 4-1-4 (two semesters and a January Interim) calendar, NCAA Division I athletics (Recent Southern Conference championships in football, baseball, men's basketball and men's soccer), National Fraternities and Sororities, and a friendly community.

Perhaps those reasons are why Forbes (www.forbes.com) ranked Wofford at number 71 among the 600 "America's Best Colleges" in August 2009. Our ranking makes us the only campus in South Carolina among the top 100 colleges and universities!

In fact, we are consistently rated one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation, and we hope you'll want to join us!
