West Virginia University, founded in 1867, is a public, comprehensive institution. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Agriculture and Forestry, Arts and Sciences, Business and Economics, Creative Arts, Engineering and Mineral Resources, and Human Resources and Education and the Schools of Dentistry, Journalism, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Education, and Social Work. Both of the WVU's campuses (Downtown and Evansdale) are located in Morgantown, WV, just 75 miles south of Pittsburgh and totaling 673 acres.
