- Arthropods: Insects that live on humans
- Imagine sitting down to a brown-bag lunch discussion and being handed a ponytailed head infested with lice eggs. The head is carved of wood, mind you, but the hair and eggs are very much real. Such was the scene at a recent lunch presentation by Washington State University entomologist Richard Zack about insects that live on humans. Lice, bed bugs, ticks, maggots— it was enough to make people plunk down their carrot sticks and cheese sandwiches and wrinkle their noses with revulsion. - The Murrow Interview: A Conversation with Craig Duff
- The convergence of print, broadcasting and the Internet has changed the way journalists report and present the news. Nowhere is this more true than in the Middle East, where mainstream news organizations combine original reporting with information and video sourced from digital activists and ordinary citizens carrying out the functions of journalists. Craig Duff has been at the cutting edge of this reporting revolution, helping The New York Times make the transition to digital and more recently as head of multi-media and chief video journalist at Time.com, where he supervised the website's coverage of the Arab Spring. In early 2012, he joined the faculty at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. This interview was recorded in April 2012 in front of a live audience of high school journalism students at the national conference of the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association in Seattle.

- Imagine Tomorrow 2012
- The Imagine Tomorrow competition at Washington State University unites educators, scholars, and industry leaders to teach students of all backgrounds how to translate ideas into results. At the outset, the competition asks teams of Washington 9th through 12th graders to address a topic—this year, energy sustainability—by answering any of four challenges: biofuels, technology, behavior, or design. With these challenges, we aim to invite collaboration among leaders of today and tomorrow, enable students to realize how much they can achieve, and drive innovation that changes lives.
