Hi Danielle. Thank you for the "dream school" comment! I feel that way too. As for the tuition, students from NC receive a $1,850 NC Legislative Grant for all private schools within NC. Besides that in state and out of state pay the same. Usually with private colleges the tuition is the same for in state and out of state... whereas state schools are meant to support the people of that particular state.... therefore the big difference. Hope this helps. Also, if you are interested in Warren Wilson College or any small, private, please do go ahead and apply and apply for financial aid and scholarships and see what happens. Often times small private colleges have a great deal of institutional aid. If you have other questions or need anything from me or this office, feel free to email me at tbleeker@warren-wilson.edu. Hope all is well. T - 195

- Wendell Berry Reading at Warren Wilson College 11/9/11
- On Wednesday, November 9, in the College Chapel, Kentuckian Wendell Berry read from his famed Port William stories. Hi Joni. If you like I could have a student from Arizona contact you directly. Asheville itself is about 80,000 people in the city limits. For a town this size we have an amazing selection of restaurants, art galleries, music venues. There is also West Asheville, which is very young and hip and the River Arts District.. Warren Wilson is about 15/20 minutes from town and is a much smaller community (Just over 1000 if you count staff and faculty) situated on 1,100 acres of farm and forest land. For me, this is perfect because I grew up on a farm nearby. I like the space and the small size. However it is also nice to get into town as well... But on a day to day basis I'd rather be in a less populated farm and forest setting... I hope this helps. Also usually, when students choose to attend Warren Wilson College, they site "community" as being one of the reasons. Although we have less than 1,000 students, they come from all over the country and around the world and in general are really neat, giving, interested and interesting, give-anything-a-try, smart, engaged and engaging 18, 19 and 20 somethings. The student body is also a major reason I am here, they are just a great group of people, a great community.
