STROUDSBURG, PA
When I was 9 years old, my grandmother took me to the circus. I remember watching acrobats balance precariously on silver tightropes strung high above, and seeing the breathtaking beasts as they were whipped, forced to jump through hoops as they howled sadly. In retrospect, I can see now that life is just like that - we're all forced to jump through hoops, despite how painful it can be, and perform balancing acts in hopes that we don't fall.
