US Naval Academy
The United States Naval Academy is a public institution founded in 1845 and as the second oldest of the five service academies, the history of the Academy mirrors the history of the United States.
Located in historic Annapolis, Maryland, the United States Naval Academy is committed to developing our students (known as midshipmen) morally, mentally and physically and to imbue them with the highest ideals of duty, honor and loyalty.
United States Naval Academy students are officers in training and are subjected to a rigorous four-year program resulting in a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy or as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Furthermore, in return for an active-duty service obligation after graduation, the Academy’s tuition is fully funded by the U.S. Navy.
