University of Illinois at Chicago was formed by the 1982 consolidation of two campuses: the University of Illinois at the Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Architecture and the Arts, Associated Health Professionals, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Nursing; and the Jane Addams College of Social Work. Its 216-acre campus is located close to Chicago's business district.
