Hi Anna! STU is an exclusively liberal arts school with programs rooted in humanities and social sciences. This means all of our 2,400 students are pursuing a bachelor of arts degree. We have excellent majors in media studies and communications wherein you can delve into studying advertising from a classic liberal arts approach. Through our major in communications, you will be required to complete an internship in your upper years. You may be placed anywhere from departments in government to an advertising agency (as I was when I completed the program – and I absolutely loved it!). It would be very beneficial, not to mention incredibly interesting, for you to study such subject in Canada where we’re not so much different from the United States, but differ quite a bit in execution and policy. That’s not to say you’ll miss out on learning about your own country. Our curriculum is knit quite tightly to studying American government, advertising, and other issues. It’s really interesting to study both sides and would be something unique for you to bring back with you. We also have an exceptional journalism program and lots of pre-law type programs (I see from your profile that you might be interested in law). Keep in mind that we are a small, residential, liberal arts college with tuition of $12,680 (room and board $7,000). We’re recognized nationally every year for student services and satisfaction. Please let me know if you have any other questions at all. As an alumna myself, and now an employee of STU, I’d be more than happy to help in any way that I can. Have an awesome day! (PS - We also have a women's soccer team!) Get a video glimpse of STU here: www.stu.ca/stutv

Hey Maggie! Awesome to hear you're interested in STU. We have a great INternational Relations Program here at St. Thomas. You'll get plenty of travel opportunities with that program as well as each year our Model UN team goes to Harvard and also to the World Model UN, which is help around the world each year. Last year our students went to Singapore! We also have a really grgeat study abroad program. Students have the opportunity to study in Australia, Japan, Sweden, Argentina, Chile, MAlta, Quebec, and Texas (which isn't exactly "abroad" for you). The cost of this is the same as attending STU because of the partnerships we have with schools in those areas - You would pay STU tuition ($12,680), and spend the semester abroad. We also have opportunities to travel to Avila, Spain through our Spanish Language program and an Intercordia program that connects students with organizations abroad to volunteer during breaks. I hope all of this helps, Maggie! Please let me know if you have any other questions at all.
That sounds amazing! I would love to get some more.information about your school. I have always dreamed about going to Spain! Do you offer scholarships for students in the Usa? I also noticed that your school os Catholic based. I am Catholic.as.well.and was wondering how much into the faith your school.is?
I will put you on our mailing list, so you can receive some more information! We offer a lot of different scholarships and bursaries at STU, ranging in value from $2,000 to $50,000. They are awarded based on academics, extra-curricular and leadership, and even financial need. All of these different kinds of awards are available to Americans. St. Thomas is Catholic in tradition, but the campus community is made up by students of diverse faith, religions, cultures, etc. We welcome students from all backgrounds. We have a chapel on campus that holds mass on Sundays and a campus ministry for Catholic students, so that support will definitely be available to you here at STU.
