- 9999+1. Yes, with grades of 3 or higher; 2. Yes, we have many study abroad programs, including some that are very unique like Marine Ecology in Jamaica and Journalism in Russia; 3. About 90% of freshmen live on campus each year, as do about 9500 students; 4. Yes to freshmen, if all deadlines are met properly.
- 112so freshman are able to get on campus housing, but is it available to upper upperclassmen as well?
- 9999+If they enter as freshmen with housing, they can continue to receive housing for 8 semester as long as all deadlines are met each semester. Incoming transfer students are not guaranteed housing, but we try to house as many as possible.

- 9999+Hi Nicole, C+ to B+ is a very big range for an average! Stony Brook is a very competitive university; we consider the strength of your high school studies and classes, your overall GPA and standardized test scores. Keeping your average up this year will definitely help your chances, and if you're not happy with your SAT scores, consider taking them again in the fall.

- 9999+There are a lot of factors that go into when a decision is released; the date a student applied is important, but the date all of their credentials arrives, their intended major, strength of credentials, are all factors. Freshmen will be notified on an ongoing basis until April 1; Transfers will begin to receive decisions in mid-March, and rolling from there.

- 9999+Leatrice, math scores will still be looked at, though an applicant's strengths in subjects related to their intended major will also be considered.
- 146So if I kept the scores that I have in math and science, while I still have a 95 or higher GPA, 99-100s in my English and foreign language courses, would it affect my chances of getting in?
- 146Oh, and I have been getting 99-100s on my history exams as well. Plus, I'm enrolled in 2 AP classes: AP Language and Composition and AP US History. Would my AP classes also be considered for acceptance, even if I didn't do well on the exams, but did well in the classes?
- 9999+Strengths in your principle areas of study, and a strong curriculum with AP courses will certainly help your chances. Assuming you're currently in your junior year, do you to best to finish the spring semester with a strong performance that is balanced across all of your subjects. Also, strong SAT scores will of course also be a plus. Good luck!
