Laugh. Overanalyze. Listen, listen, listen: I talk but I try to make every word count. Freak out, talk myself down. Breathe...smile. Laugh over an inside joke with my two best friends. Obscure literary reference, a historical metaphor. Engage in telapathetic communication with my best friends, at least that what's it looks like to any one trying to understand what we're saying.
Extracurricular
- West African Drum and Dance
- I've taken this class since 8th grade. I enjoy it immensely especially when we have guest teachers from West Africa.
- acted and wrote a musical
- Along with 4 other students we wrote the "Cirque Du Lethe", a musical about a circus that seems like the ideal world but is in reality twisted. Our class picked out 12 songs that we wrote around. I also acted as the ventriloquist.
- Wrote a play
- My school had it's own Fringe Festival(Washington D.C. has one), which is a play festival in which several different plays, written, acted and directed by students, were preformed at the same time. I wrote a one character play called "Words from a Nerdett
- Volunteered at my public library
- I helped with the Summer Reading program for acouple hours a week
- volunteered at homeless shelter
- This is an organization called Inn Transitions that helps family who are "in transition". I go there almost every Sunday for two hours and do crafts and activities with the children.
