* Completed signed application
* 500-750-word essay on the following topic: Without critical changes, U.S. population is projected to reach 438 million people in less than 40 years. Explain how this projected growth will negatively affect the United States socially, economically and environmentally.
* Essays must be written in English, word-processed or typed double-spaced using one side only in black ink on 8.5x11 inch white paper, using Times Roman or Arial font size 12-14. All submissions are subject to the NPG Privacy Policy. E-mailed or faxed essays will not be accepted. Only one entry per student.
Eligibility:
* Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident.
* Must be a senior in high school or a college freshman, sophomore or junior in an undergraduate program.
* Must be attending a school within the United States, or operated overseas by the U.S. government.
* Relatives of employees or directors of NPG are not eligible.
Purpose:
NPG, a national membership organization devoted to population issues, invites students to compete in their Annual Essay Scholarship Contest.
