Application Overview:
* Completed application
* Two short answer questions between 450 and 600 words as follows:
1) Which college course do you think would help you the most your freshman year? If no such course already exists, please tell us about a course that you would create and explain how that course will help you during your freshman year.
2) How do you spend your time when you are away from the classroom?
* Recommendation form completed by a teacher, a guidance counselor, an employer, or anyone else who has worked with you in an academic, professional, and/or volunteer capacity (this should not be a family friend or family member)
* Copy of transcript
* Copy of ACT and/or SAT score
Eligibility:
* Must be a current high school senior
* Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
* Must also have scored in the top 20 percent for ACT and/orSAT (a score of 25 or higher for ACT and 1780 or higher for SAT)
* Must enroll in a 4-year or 2-year institution that has an NSCS chapter (to search for current NSCS chapters, please visit the Find My Chapter page)
Purpose:
The Emerging Scholars Program will award scholarships to high-achieving high school seniors who plan to enroll at a university or community college that has an NSCS chapter.
