Application Overview:
Submit the online application including one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or adult mentor must accompany the application, and reflective responses to the following questions:
1) Why did you select the college you will be attending this fall? (100 words or less)
2) Who/what has influenced you most in your pursuit of college? (300 words or less)
3) Explain why you are deserving of the Opportunity Scholarship. (500 words or less)
Eligibility:
* Be a current high school (or home-schooled) senior attending school in the United States
* Neither parent has earned a four-year college degree
* Must be attending a CSO partner college or university
* Be seeking financial aid and scholarship support for college
* Be involved in extracurricular and leadership programs in school or in the community
Purpose:
Center for Student Opportunity's Opportunity Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship awarded to first-generation college students graduating in the current high school class and enrolling at a CSO College Partner.
Scholarship winners may serve as monthly guest bloggers on the Opportunity Scholars web blog to share insight and perspective about their transition to college and successes thereafter.
