I am a Junior enrolled in honors classes at my high school. My GPA is a strong 3.973 and I want to go into a medical/science field. I play soccer for school and my travel team. I work at a local restaurant to support my gas/insurance and fun. My dream is to be the first person in my family to get a college degree. My family has stressed the importance of education and I am determined to make them proud.

I'm reading The Great Gatsby, a story of the love between a man and a woman. The main theme of the novel is a much larger, less romantic scope. The book is a symbolic meditation on 1920s America andthe disintegration of the American dream in an era of unprecedented prosperity and material excess.
