Does your school accept transfers from community colleges? and if so, have many credits do you need and what is the GPA requirement?
    • 2211
Hi Ayanna! Many students transfer to Rutgers from community colleges. The definition of a transfer student is any student that has completed 12 or more college credits since high school graduation. However, to be competitive for transfer admission, students typically need at least two semesters of challenging academic coursework with strong grades. There is no minimum GPA required for admission to any schools at Rutgers. Decisions for transfer students are based on a variety of factors including cumulative GPA, strength of academic program, grade trend, and number of credits completed. For more information visit http://admissions.rutgers.edu/ApplyNow/MoreForTransferApplicants/HowWeMakeDecisions.aspx. Sincerely, Fred Guzzi

Four things: 1) Does your school accept high school AP class credits? 2) Does your school have study abroad? 3) Is your school a commuter college? 4) Does your school offer on campus housing for students for all four years?

Hello, I'm a highschool Senior at the academy of arts and academics in Springfield, Oregon. I am not going to be able to graduate this year, due to a lack of credits, but I will be finishing up my credits next year and most likely attending Lane Community College to lock up some College Credits. When I left my previous school as a junior I had a 1.6 GPA, but ever since I came to A3, I've had excellent grades and plan to continue to have excellent grades throughout my remaining time here. I have yet to take the SATs or ACTs until I finish my credits. I was wondering if you could tell me what I might need to do in order to attend your college in the fall a few years from now, or even what my chances are of getting accepted. Thankyou. --Emily Ocean
