Commencement 2012 at Rhode Island College
Our Advanced Degree Exercises will be held on Thursday, May 17, at 5:30 p.m. in the Murray Center.Jennifer E. Duffy, senior editor of The Cook Political Report, will receive an honorary Doctor of Social Sciences and deliver the graduate commencement address.

Cap and Gown Convocation - May 2, 2012
Students were joined by administration, faculty, family and friends at the May 2 Cap and Gown Convocation, which highlighted the academic achievements of the Class of 2012 and featured a capping ceremony.

  • The Rhode Island College Dialogue On Diversity Spring Lecture addressed the topic "Migration and Citizenship: African American and Asian American Stories". Amritjit Singh, Langston Hughes Professor of English at Ohio University, provided a lecture exploring the patterns of African Americans' internal migration from the South between the end of the Civil War to the 1920s, and the hurdles that Asian immigrants from various locations faced in their search for "home" and citizenship during those years.
