I am Chinese and was born in the United states. Although I do not know how to read or write Chinese, I have an affinity for Chinese culture. It is my goal to fill in the gaps in my cultural identity through my lifetime. I'm a persistent worker. I am studious and determined, and I am eager to confront challenges, no matter how big and beyond they may be. Every step forward is proof that the will to go on has persevered. Also, I am a nice, helpful person who is happy to help others. I devote my time regularly to give back to community through volunteer services in my school, church, and community. Besides my academic and social commitment, I enjoy music. I play piano, violin, ukulele, and clarinet. I had piano lessons for ten years and violin lessons for five years. However, I now play on my own spare time and compose transcriptions of certain songs that I enjoy listening to.
