- Daisy Chain
- A graduation tradition since the early 1900s, the Daisy Chain starts with thousands of daisies being woven into a chain. - Randolph students research Lynchburg food desert
- As Randolph College professor John Abell prepared to teach an economics class about food and sustainability, he wanted to make it different from a traditional course focused on lectures and reading assignments. He assigned his students to research the variety and prices of foods available in convenience stores and grocery stores. Their research demonstrated the economic factors at play in a Lynchburg food desert, a neighborhood where healthy food choices are lacking. The students and Abell co-wrote a paper that was later published in the Virginia Economic Journal. Watch this video to learn about their experience of conducting real economic research and making an impact in the community.
