At Quest, we started from scratch to build a university centered on you. Your classes are all seminars with fewer than twenty students. You take one class at a time - a new intellectual adventure each month. You sample many realms of knowledge, and then build your own major. You use our spectacular natural environment as an extension of our classrooms. You question everything.

Quest is located in the coastal mountain community of Squamish, British Columbia, equidistant from Vancouver and Whistler, host cities of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The University's 60-acre campus borders on Garibaldi Provincial Park, a protected wilderness area with miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Classrooms and student housing overlook the rugged peaks and valleys of the Tantalus Mountains and Howe Sound, Canada's southernmost fjord. These natural surroundings provide a dramatic and inspiring backdrop to the academic and social activities on campus.

These scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence (David W. Strangway Awards for Excellence) or based on- 488Quest University Canada Admissionsmerit (Presidential scholarship and Quest University Canada scholarships). Additionally, you are able to apply for financial aid in the form of a grant, you don't have to pay it back to the school. - 488Hi Madison, at Quest, students take and tutors (professors) teach only one course at a time in intensive "blocks." Each class takes three hours per day and each block lasts for three and a half weeks with a four day break in between. That adds up to 18 days of class and 54 classroom hours. Taking one course at a time allows for intense engagement in the subject matter. There is no other homework so there are no conflicts with other classes and no need to prioritize. It also makes field trips and field work much easier to schedule (an ecology class can go on an excursion for a week without interfering with other classes). http://www.questu.ca/academics/the_block_plan.php Hope that helps!

- 488Hi Emma, Thanks for asking! Our retention rate tends to be pretty good due to the fact that most Quest students are self-selective (meaning they come to Quest after a lot of research and usually know what they're getting themselves into) and that we have a small, student-centred environment. You have work with a faculty advisor the moment you start at Quest, and all of our classes have a maximum of 20 students in them. That said, I believe we lose under 10 students a year. We don't have concrete data because we're such a new institution. The first year that we opened in 2007, we likely lost a few more than 10, but being the first class in a new university, as you may expect, is not for everyone! I hope this helps. - 488Yes we do accept IB diplomas for admissions and if you are considering transfer credits, you need a 6 or higher IB score in higher level courses.

- 488One class at a time, four classes (blocks) in four months. Block plan works on the same pattern as a semester in any other university, the only difference is that you take one course at a time instead of four/five courses all together. With this, all of our students are expected to graduate on time, that is within 4 years.

- 488When you take one class at a time, you are taking one block in one month and it follows on for the rest of your degree; four blocks make one term and two terms equal one year of your university. In total you have 8 terms in 4 years, that allows you to be enrolled as a full-time student.
