Pitzer College
Pitzer College is a small liberal-arts college in Claremont, California, operating as an active member of unique educational system known as The Claremont Colleges. This educational collective consists of seven different institutions guided by an “Oxford Model” of higher education.
Pitzer is well known for preparing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence to act as global citizens in today’s ever-changing world. The college provides an academically rigorous, interdisciplinary education emphasizing social justice, intercultural understanding, and environmental sensitivity.
The campus is located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, and students enjoy Pitzer’s warm and sunny climate year round. Plus, there is easy access to the nearby cultural hub of Los Angeles via commuter rail, and various outdoor recreation activities including skiing, hiking, desert, and ocean sports are within an hour’s drive from campus.

- 9999+International relations is a popular major for us. A big highlight for all of our students are our study abroad programs. Nearly 72% of our students study abroad. Check out our IR-related majors in World Studies and Third-World studies too.

- 9999+Hi Jake. The short answer is yes. Our physics major has an extensive list of course offerings and prepares students for work in research, engineering, and prepares them for high level coursework in physics.

- 9999+Hi Nicole. We do not have a fashion design program, but you may want to consider costume design within our theatre program and coursework in the visual arts.

- 9999+Hi Erin. Like most colleges, we do not offer a major in Pre-Medicine, but we do offer a pre-health track. This track would guide you in taking coursework that would prepare you for medical, veterinary, or nursing school while you complete a major. The major you choose can be science based, or even of another interest. We do not have a culinary art major or minor, however, we do have alumni who have been vary successful in the restuarant business.
