Oregon College of Art and Craft

(Portland, OR)

A Creative Community in Portland offering degree, certificate and individual classes for the public, young and old. OCAC is a place to learn how to think, not what to think, how to craft art, not what art to craft. It’s a place to develop a breadth of experience with different materials that is very rare in our age of specialization, yet extraordinarily useful in today’s ever changing art world. It’s that rare place where everyone’s views are valued, where careful and caring discussion and respect for difference are the guiding rules, not the exception. OCAC is an intentionally small, exceptionally student-centered art college gathering people from all over the country.

Helen, You have a couple of years so take the time to get a GPA of 3.0 or better and take art classes, working on your portfolio. We come to Texas every year for a couple of the National Portfolio Day events and I would recommend that you attend one of these in the fall of both your junior and senior year. There you will be able to show your art work to our representative which will help you to build a strong portfolio. I hope this is helpful. You can find much of the information you need to apply on our website with admissions info at http://ocac.edu/#/Admissions/
