(Oberlin, OH)

Oberlin is a four-year, selective liberal arts college offering a rigorous academic experience combined with an internationally acclaimed Conservatory of Music. How many of your students receive a merit scholarship/financial aid? I'm an active student with a 3.9 GPA, and I'm definitely interested in your creative writing program(s), but Oberlin would certainly be a stretch financially.

I'm interested in what programs you offer, but I truly haven't made a concrete decision about what colleges I will apply to. Can you give me a reason I would do best to apply at BGSU? I intend to major in Psychology/Criminal Justice and minor and Music/Film Production.

In order to save money during the recent recession, what, if anything, has Oberlin cut or reduced? Certain departments, programs?

Oberlin has remained financial healthy despite the recession, and has not undertaken any cuts (such as of departments or programs) that would have a significant impact on the student experience. We did have a freeze on raises to staff members for a couple of years, and academic and non-academic departments across campus were asked to reevaluate their spending practices, but I think the biggest difference students noticed was when they decided to cut back on the late-night operating hours for the on-campus cafe/grocery store.

I received an email about the Multicultural Visit Program earlier today. I was looking at the Application outline and I wanted to know how I should get my SAT/ACT scores sent out.

Hi Anthony-- You can either have your scores sent directly from the testing agency, or have your high school guidance counselor include a copy of your scores when providing your high school transcript.
