Long Description

Why are so many students choosing Oberlin? The campus culture is one of cooperation rather than competition. Faculty members focus on teaching undergraduates, and over two-thirds of our classes have fewer than 20 students.

Oberlin offers more than 50 academic majors and was one of the first liberal arts colleges to offer a Neuroscience major. In addition, we were among the first to install a 64-node supercomputer on campus, build the first completely solar-powered academic building, and establish one of the top creative writing programs in the nation. As far as we know, we're also the only college that lets students borrow Picassos and Rembrandts from its art museum.

Students at Oberlin love to express themselves, giving more than 500 concerts and recitals annually, along with dozens of theater and dance productions. We offer 22 varsity teams, assorted club sports and intramural teams, and nearly 150 student organizations.

At Oberlin, you can hone your leadership and organizational skills through involvement in student government or service on faculty and administrative committees. Or you can simply enjoy being a part of a community of dedicated learners and doers who know how to study hard, play well, and dream big.
