Northeastern State is a public, comprehensive university. It was founded in 1846 as a result of a treaty between the U.S. and the Cherokee Nation to provide higher education for the Cherokees. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Arts and Letters, Business and Industry, Education, Optometry, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Mathematics, Science, and Nursing, and the Graduate College. Its 160-acre campus is located in Tahlequah, 60 miles from Tulsa.

    Q: Are there wi-fi hotspots on campus? A: Yes, the majority of campus has wi-fi, exluding the dorm rooms. However the lounges in the dorms do have wi-fi.

      Gangs 101 Seminar

      The NSU Crime and Justice Institute and the Oklahoma Gang Investigators Association (OGIA) are sponsoring a Gangs 101 comprehensive course (seminar) on street gangs in the Tulsa/NE Oklahoma area. The event is scheduled for February 17 from 8:30-5 p.m. in the NSU-BA auditorium. The seminar is certified for 8 CLEET training hours and will address local gangs and their identifiers.
