Follow messageHi everyone! Just the basics, I love mangoes and chincillas, my family is the best, and this may sound dorky but I love school. I'm a band geek and I enjoy every second of it! Trumpet is my forte, but I can manage twinkle, twinkle on the piano. My friends keep me sane, and I'm looking forward to an eventfully busy senior year. Just this April I attended the opening of CERN's LHC in Geneva, Switzerland!! The exerience was great and eye opening. Im glad my got school accepted to go. I hope that I can get enough scholarships to go to school out of state. Thats just the tip of the iceburg!
Extracurricular
- Marching Band
- Each year students make up the marching band and drill formations and music to preform during half-time at the football games. It a fun activity that has helped me make many great friends.
- Jazz Band
- I love jazz and participate in the 225 Jazz Band. We are a group made up of high school and college students along with some adults. We play gigs for various organizations and clubs. It's a lot of fun and I enjoy the people.
- Student Council
- This year our big project was raising money to buy shoes for underpriviledged kids in the area. We bought 50 pairs of shoes and teamed up with the NHS to get socks for them too.
- Vetern's Administration
- At the VA facilities I volunteer doing odd jobs and such for veterans and faculty.
- Shoes for Kids
- So far, as a new inductee, I have helped raise money to provide socks for underprivileged kids and will soon help with a house building project in the community.
- Visit CERN in Geneva, Switzerland
- As student journalist, my team and I, went to witness the opening of CERN's new LHC. A huge experiment that collides particle like protons and large nuclei.
- Engineering Camp at UH
- During the summer of my Sophmore year, I attended a introductiory camp at the University of Houston.
- MIT WTP Program
- This summer I will be attending MIT's Women in Technology Program. The focus is Electrical Engineering. The applicant proccess was very competative (40 out of 219) and I am looking forward to a great four weeks at MIT.
- Section Leader
- Well, as section leader its my job to make sure all the trumpets are on task and keeping up. As Librarian officer, I'm in charge of making music copies for the whole band.
