University of New Hampshire, founded in 1866, is a comprehensive, public institution. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Life Sciences and Agriculture, the School of Health Studies, and the Whittemore School of Business and Economics. Its 2,600-acre campus is located in Durham, north of Portsmouth.
