Matt Spooner
FollowDirector of Undergraduate Admissions
My roots with American Jewish University extend back to 2004 when I was hired as the Program Director of AJU’s Continuing Education department.
In November 2008, I transitioned into the role of Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and my goal since that time has been simple: recruit dynamic and talented students who are interested in a truly unique and powerful college experience.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California, and my passion for Jewish life and culture started in high school shortly after getting involved with Jewish youth groups and camps.
I graduated from UCLA – where I was actively involved with Hillel – in 2001 with a BA in Anthropology.
When I'm not in the office, I enjoy being outside and getting active – running, swimming, biking, beach volleyball, softball, basketball…anything goes!
