For the 13th time in the past 10 years, an LSU student was named a Goldwater Scholar, when junior Carl Sabottke of Baton Rouge was awarded the prestigious, nationally competitive scholarship.

The scholarship program honoring U.S. Sen. Barry M. Goldwater was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.

LSU has announced the names of the students who have made the Dean’s List and the Chancellor’s Honor Roll for the spring 2012 semester.
