Trinity High School Class of 2012
La Barca, Mexico

Hi! My name is Lia, and I'm a Senior in high school. Let me tell you a bit about myself! =)

My friends and family call me their little fashionista, lamb, and teaholic. Fashionista because I am rarely seen in sweatpants or gym shoes...I love fashion!
Lamb because I have really curly hair!
&Teaholic because it can be 100 degrees F. outside, but I'll still drink my hot tea =)
I love to read, watch movies, dance, run, and hang out downtown Chicago.

When I was 3yrs. old, my family & I immigrated to Chicago from Mexico. I have not forgotten my roots;--I embrace my Mexican culture--I speak Spanish fluently and have therefore started learning French. (My favorite thing about being bilangual is the music! My ipod is about 50-60% Spanish music =) My parents came to the U.S. with big dreams for my younger sister and I. I've inherited their strong work ethic and ambitiousness. This is visible in my decision to challenge myself in the vigorous full-IB (International Baccalaureate) program at Trinity H.S. (my all-girls high school). In addition to thriving in my classes, I have taken up leadership positions in various clubs: Diversity Club, Trinity's Art & Design Team, Spanish in Action, and the National Honor Society.

I feel very blessed for receiving such a wonderful education and that motivates me to excel. I am particularly excited for college because I know I'll be one step closer to my dream of becoming a doctor. I can't wait for all the rich opportunities that college can offer me and for the amazing people I'll befriend. I hope to start meeting some of those people here through Zinch. So "follow" me!..I promise I won't lead you into a wall =D
