Admissions Counselor at SDSM&T
Hi! My name is Kelly and I grew up in the beautiful Black Hills area of South Dakota. The sunshine filled summers have lead to my love for swimming and hiking. Discovering all the unique and beautiful qualities the hills have to offer is an endless exploration. However, the snowy winters do give a respectable excuse to curl up with a blanket and watch lots of movies or read.

Just last winter, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in English and an edorsement in Library Media from Black Hills State University. Being a South Dakota girl, through and through, I chose to stay in the Black Hills and begin my career as an Admissions Counselor for the highly regarded South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City! Being a counselor is amazing, not only do I get to travel to all sorts of new places on exciting adventures, but I get to work with extraordinary students and help make the first college experience a memorable one!

Working for a premier engineering and science university is extremely rewarding. SDSM&T has roughly 2,300 students, a 13:1 ratio of students to professors, and an average class size of 20. Additionally, 97% of our graduates are working in their preferred career field with an average starting salary of $60,000. South Dakota School of Mines and Technology is responsible for educating and preparing leaders in engineering and science.
