I'm a really happy person, I love reading YA novels, I'm kind of a nerd, and I'm playful. Almost as playful as my dog, but not quite. :)

I'm always looking for special opportunities both outside of and within school, like the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership seminar I'll be attending on behalf of my entire school this May. I love the idea of getting to do things outside of school, things that will introduce me to new people, teach me new things, and help me stand out when it's finally time to join my friends on the battlefield that is college acceptance, but I'm just as thrilled (if not more) to have the opportunity to do things that I can get my teacher involved in as well. My inbox is always open!

Summer Swim Team 2009 to Now
I've been a memeber of the summer rec team Cove Point Crocs since 2009, and this past year (2011) began staying after my age level's practice time to help coach the younger kids on our team with a few of my friends.

Winter Swim Team 2009 to 2011
In the winter, I was a member on a severely more serious, and competitive, USA sanctioned swim team known as the GMAC Otters. I was strictly a level 1 swim, and never a coach. I was a sprinter, and rarely ever a distant swimmer. My best events were the 50 butterfly, 100 free, 100 breast, and 100+ backstroke. I was also the main anchor for the girls 15-18 200 Free relay, and medley.

Carol Serb Sportsmanship Award in summer of 2009 as a member of SMSL. (Southern Maryland Swim League)
Star Performer award as a member of Cove Point Crocs swim team.
Honor roll in 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th.
Swimmer Of The Meet in October of 2009
Two paid publications on the website With Painted Words (payment declined)
2 participant medals, and 1 third place medal in triathalon

Specialties & Skills

I swim, and I'm pretty good, though I'm not phenomenal or anything. I think my favorite part is playing assistant coach to the younger kids on our team.
I also write, mostly fiction, rarely essays, and almost never poetry.
If making macaroni counts as a skill, then I'm really good at that.
