The University of Iowa is a major national research university located on a 1,900-acre campus in Iowa City in southeast Iowa, on the Iowa River. Iowa is composed of 11 colleges, the largest of which is the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, enrolling most of Iowa's undergraduates. The Henry B. Tippie College of Business, the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, and the Colleges of Education, Engineering, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, enroll undergraduates, and with the Colleges of Dentistry and Public Health provide graduate education in conjunction with the Graduate College.

Our Admission Visitors Center is open for business this summer, but due to construction on the Cleary Walkway, the south entrance to the Pomerantz Center (which houses AVC) will be closed through August 10, 2012.   • Hey, Class of 2016! The University of Iowa is looking for a charismatic speaker from your class to help formally welcome the class to campus during Convocation on Sunday, August 19. Think you fit the bill? Upload your audition video by 5 pm, Friday, July 27. To enter the contest, save your audition video to your desktop, then follow the instructions for uploading it as a response to this video at 1:12. Limit your video to two minutes (content beyond two minutes will not be considered). In your audition, just be yourself. Don't worry about props or preparing the final speech.
