- 1754University of Iowa AdmissionsHi Viren. Thanks for your message. The requirements for the Honors Program are separate from the admission requirements for the College of Business and College of Engineering. For Honors, incoming first-year students need an ACT composite score of 27 or higher (combined SAT Critical Reading and Math score of 1210 or higher) and a high school GPA of 3.80 or higher. Students also qualify with a GPA of 3.70 or higher and an ACT composite score of 30 or higher (or the SAT equivalent of 1330 or higher). Admission requirements for the colleges of business and engineering are at http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/requirements/fy-top.html. Many first-year students interested in business start as pre-business majors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and then apply to the College of Business while at Iowa. Let us know if you have other questions.
