Hood College
Hood College is a small college located in Frederick, Maryland which prepares its students to become successful career professionals and responsible citizens. They offer students a liberal arts education that is mixed with a focus on professional studies.
The Hood campus is conveniently nestled between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, about one hour from each city. This strategic location gives their students access to a variety of internship opportunities as well as all of the history and excitement that these two cities have to offer.
Hood has been educating students for 115 years, and currently offers 28 bachelor's degree programs and 14 master's degree programs. They are committed to providing an exceptional college experience, all while seeking to exceed the expectations of their students.

- 854Hi Sara, We offer journalism through our Communication department. The major is designed to prepare students for careers in converging media, including such applications as print news reporting and editing, magazine writing, broadcasting, digital media, public relations and online journalism. Communication arts offers a 42-credit major. Students interested in particular specialties, such as journalism, public relations, film studies and digital media, are guided to choose history, theory and skills courses that address those fields. Internships are integral to the program. Students have worked at public relations firms, non-profit agencies, web-based publications, newspapers, magazines, television and radio stations, museums and other locations.
