My name is Hannah Weinberger. I strive to champion the underdog, expand my world view, and discover things that might change the universe as we perceive it. Ideally, I would also like infinite funds to support my proclivity for global exploration and my boundless curiosity.
Extracurricular
- Editorial Editor/Regular Contributer
- I am deeply fascinated by the concept of freedom of speech, and try to take advantage of it whenever possible. The one thing no one can ever take from you is your knowledge; combine that with an analytical mind frame and integrity, and you are invincible.
- Musicals and Voice Lessons
- I have been taking voice lessons since 7th grade. It serves as an artistic outlet. My coach is a dear friend, and she has widened my range beyond anything I could ever have expected. Besides harboring dreams of rockstardom, I would love to share my voice
- Committed Member and Delegate
- Collaboration is the key to a successful peace settlement between international bodies at all times. In order to create a lasting agreement, delegates need to compromise and contribute towards an agreement honorably. I see myself as an honest, somewhat id
- Runner
- I came into the XC season halfway through after an IT band injury, and ended up being my team's second best runner. My coach said I had 'heart', the key to becoming a real athlete. This sport helped me discover things about myself. I realized that while I
- Musicals
- I have been acting regularly since 6th grade. Because I have a nice voice, I tend towards musical performances, but I genuinely appreciate straight plays. I enjoy becoming characters, as each one adds a new facet to my personality, and lets me explore hum
- Actress- Straight Plays
- I acted in my very first straight play this year, and fell deeply in love with it. Being in a show without music allows the actor to concentrate more deeply on character development and plot analysis, both of which I find fascinating. I would love to be a
- Volunteered at animal shelter
- I volunteer for three to four hours a day at the Geagua Humane Society. I have never had so much fun doing janitorial work! I hope to become a regular volunteer after I have completed my service hours
- Cycled across Ireland
- Two summers ago, I went on the most exhilarating trip of my life. I went by myself to Ireland with a small group of kids and two leaders whom I had never met before, and cycled a total of 350 miles across the southwestern section of the country.
- Chinese Immersion Program
- I spent my July immersing myself in the Chinese language at the Menlo College campus of the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy program. It is safe to say that my verbal, auditory, and writing skills have drastically improved.
- Editorials
- I am in charge of the Editorial section of my school newspaper.
- Diversity League
- I work with students from around the Cleveland area, organizing dances and like events in the hopes that we may spread the message of diversity.
- National Council of Girls Schools
- I participated in dialogues with educators from around the globe, sat in on lectures, and gave a presentation concerning the future of girls' education.
- Linguistics Society
- I aid students along their personal quests for linguistic excellence, through lectures, word games, and assorted other activities.
