The McKnight Foundation has named Minnesota poet and recently retired, long-time Hamline educator John Caddy as the 2012 McKnight Distinguished Artist.

John Caddy was one of the founders of Community Programs in the Arts and Sciences, or COMPAS. He began teaching at Hamline in 1984, where he has spent decades teaching current and future teachers to foster environmental education through the process of making art in several art forms. Hamline University is again partnering to host the Middle East Education to Employment Fellowship Project. The group of 20 Fellows will be in the Twin Cities through June 16.
