Extracurricular
- Principal bassoon, school symphonic band
- I played the flute for seven years, but picked up the bassoon during my freshman year for fun. I'm now the principal bassoon player at my school and have been invited to play for other prestigious bands such as the East County Select Band and the Diablo W
- Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor
- I was the Managing Editor of Heritage's school paper, the Heritage Ledger, during the '08-'09 school year and will be the Editor-in-Chief during the '09-'10 school year.
- Varsity and JV tennis
- I was on the Girls' JV Tennis Team my freshman year and have been on the Varsity team since then. Last season ('08-'09) I was the captain of the team.
- Freelance writer/columnist for the Brentwood Press
- Since 2005, I have worked as a freelance columnist and correspondent for Brentwood's local paper, the Brentwood Press. I will continue to write for them until I move out of Brentwood.
- Heritage High School Band Council
- I was the Public Relations Officer for the band council during my sophomore year and the Historian during my junior year. I'm the Historian for the 2009-2010 year as well.
- Volunteer for the Brentwood Youth Commission
- I am the Treasurer of the Brentwood Youth Commission, a body of ten students from Brentwood who meet once a month to address issues relating to youth and the city. We also volunteer at events.
- Junior Fair Director for the Contra Costa County Fair
- served as a Junior Fair Director for the Contra Costa County Fair Board from 2006-2007. Duties included volunteering at events held at the fairgrounds and in the area and planning the annual fair.
