Hey Oasis: high school GPA is tricky because no matter who you ask, the answer may actually be a little misleading. Many schools measure GPA on a 5 point scale, many on a 4 point scale, some add extra weight for advanced courses, others don't, etc. Duke does not quote an average GPA. We cannot fairly estimate an average GPA when many schools consider GPA on different scales and some do not consider GPA at all. Also, Duke does not recalculate GPAs that come from a weighted system. In general, we take what is given to us in the context of what we know and what the guidance counselor tells us about your school.
