The University of Connecticut, founded in 1881, is a public, comprehensive university. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Agriculture and Natural Resources and Liberal Arts and Sciences; the Schools of Allied Health Professions, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Family Studies, Fine Arts, Nursing, and Pharmacy; and Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture. Its 4,104-acre campus is located in Storrs, 30 miles from Hartford.
