Colleen Quint
Follow messageHello! I am an artist and enjoy illustrating concepts, creating character designs, children's books, posters, storyboards, and more. Still life painting is a habit which I will continue to invest in, but my main focus is going to be illustration. I have submitted my work to various competitions and am now preparing a solid portfolio. My goal is to create pieces that inspire the viewer, as well as collaborate with other artists to produce quality work that meets today's standards.
Japan is something that's been on my heart for over three years now, so I am also studying Japanese and eagerly learning their culture. My desire is for my skills to be used there to touch the hearts of the Japanese.
Daring Dream, Costly Choice, Personal Plight:
As the oldest of seven children, I live in a large and loving home, however, my family is financially limited. We live in a rental house because my parents are investing all of their finances into our education. They have chosen to live this way not only because they want us to have the best opportunities possible, but also because they have agreed to not get into debt. Their example is an inspiration for me to work hard in order to achieve the education I desire, without also falling into the trap my parents avoided. Though they are investing everything they have, they cannot afford my college expenses because of the needs my other six siblings require. As a result, I am looking to earn my way through college, be it through selling my artwork or applying for scholarships. Because of my limited finances, I am looking for opportunities to earn an education through this and many other scholarships to come. Your investment would make a tremendous impact on my life by enabling me to continue my studies at The Art Department (http://theartdepartment.org/). Thank you for considering me.
