- Fiance Administers Oath to Cadet at Clarkson University ROTC Commissioning To be Commissioned into a branch of the US Military is one thing, but to be administered your oath by your fiance is another. That's what happened at Clarkson University's ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) Commissioning Ceremony on May 11, 2012. 1st Lt. Michael Ives '05 administered the oath of office to his bride-to-be, 2nd Lt. Jennifer Zanghi '12. Clarkson is not only affiliated with both the Army and Air Force ROTC programs but ranks among the best in the country in these programs. Clarkson ranked second in the nation in Washington Monthly magazine's 2011 Annual College Guide for the percentage of its students serving in the ROTC. These programs offer leadership training and are the first step to becoming a commissioned officer in the service of choice.
