Chatham, founded in 1869, is a private, liberal arts college for women. Its 32-acre campus is located in a residential area, eight miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Several mansions in the neighborhood serve as student dormitories.

How closely connected is Chatham University to other schools in the area? Does the school take part in any cross-collegiate events with them?

    Thanks for the question, Kelsie! Academically, Chatham allows students to cross-register with other universities in the area. Socially, since Chatham is such a small school, we coordinate events with other universities in the city. Chatham is also athletically involved with nearby universities (http://pacathletics.org/).

Q: -Are there ATMs available on campus? A: -There is one ATM located in the student lounge, as well as an ATM for graduate students at our Chatham Eastside campus (a free 10 minute shuttle ride away!)

    Q: Are there wi-fi hotspots on campus? A: Our entire campus, other than the dorms, is wireless. That transition should be happening this spring! The dorms do have ethernet access at the moment.

      Q: -Does your school have an Early Decision policy in order? A: -We use rolling admissions at Chatham, so you'll find out within a few weeks about your admission status, regardless of the date of application.         Q: -Are roommates assigned or can I choose my roommate? A: Your first year roommate(s) are assigned--you will have 1-3 roommates. After that, you are permitted to choose your roommates.

          Q: -Is your school located in a suburban, urban, or rural area? A: Urban! We're located about 20 minutes driving distance from downtown Pittsburgh. The school itself is located on a pretty secluded little hill, so you have the best of both worlds.
