- The Chief of Police of Anaheim organized a special youth advisory group to give their perspectives on different issues affecting our city. We are currently discussing possible solutions to combat violence and grafitti, and implementing some of those solut

- We help enhance communication between teachers, students, and parents, as well as break down barriers that hinder effective understanding

- During the summer of 2007, I helped organize and implement a program that promoted fitness amongst children from 1st-6th grade

- During the summer of 2008, I helped organize and implement (again) a fitness program aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle for young kids

- I helped organize and implement a program whose goal was to raise awareness about environmental issues for kids from 1st-6th grade

- The Chief of Police's Council developed and implemented a youth program geared towards K-6th grade students to educate about graffiti and its consequences (still ongoing)

- Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project
- I spent a weekend in UCLA's campus and learned more about the different opportunities that exist in our community for minority youth. I met amazing role models that gave me great advice and I have shared this advice to many of my peers.
- North Orange County Regional Occupational Program
- I attended some job training workshops and was able to intern for a youth program in the City of Anaheim for the Summer

- I am helping organize and present a youth leadership conference in LA, collaborating with other cities for ideas and activities. We will also train and present workshops at this conference.

- Our committee will be organizing community service events for our AVID students to participate in.

- I will lead the council in this year's continuation of the anti-graffiti curriculum, as well as add in more volunteering opportunities and support the group with communication.
