FollowHigh School Class of 2013
Camarillo and Thousand Oaks, California
Looking forward to the future!
I'm an 4.0 g.p.a. student at Thousand Oaks High School.
I have been a mentor and member of 4H for six years. I have also participated in a number of community service projects, and have volunteered helping mentally and physically disabled youths in two separate programs. The first program is "Thunder Pals," which is a county funded program where I had the opportunity to work with children who had special needs reading books and doing crafts. The second program is "Ride On" where I help children who have down syndrome and autism interact with horses.
I've played high school and club basketball for five years and have been elected team captain twice. I am a member of the National Honors Society, Student Government (ASB), The Masters Program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Pay It Forward and Operation Gratitude organizations. I've received a" Presidential Award for Scholastic Excellence", and The "Merit Award for Athletic and Scholastic Achievement" two years in a row. I have received a "Certificate of Commendation" from the County of Ventura for my years of community service. I'm also on the Honor Roll as well as a member of the National Society for High School Scholars. I am also in the Master's Program.
For the past seven years I have raised, trained and cared for my own horse. I am a champion rider in both English and Western disciplines. I love playing any kind of sports and go snowboarding with my friends whenever there is snow in the nearby mountains. I enjoy helping people whenever I can.
I love to travel and have spent time in Africa where I taught English to impoverished children in a rural village out in the "bush" in Northern Kenya. It is in Africa where I hope to return to study abroad or intern.
I enjoy my studies and hope to continue my education until I receive a doctorate degree.
I love to cook and can bake an amazing chocolate cake!
