Ball State is a public, comprehensive university. Founded in 1918, it gained university status in 1965. Its 955-acre campus is located in a residential area one mile northwest of downtown Muncie. Campus architecture includes Tudor-Gothic and modern styles.

  • On Saturday, April 21, Ball State dedicated its new Briner Sports...
  • On Saturday, April 21, Ball State dedicated its new Briner Sports Complex. Located north of Scheumann Stadium, the complex includes the university's soccer turf field, track/throw and field events area and field hockey field. Newly renovated locker rooms for the field hockey, soccer and track and field teams also were included in the project. The complex is named for Ken and Peggy Briner, generous friends and loyal fans of Ball State athletics.
