Ball State is a public, comprehensive university. Founded in 1918, it gained university status in 1965. Its 955-acre campus is located in a residential area one mile northwest of downtown Muncie. Campus architecture includes Tudor-Gothic and modern styles.

Donated to the Wheeler Orchid Collection only last November, the orchid's in its flowering debut, with each flower expected to last two to three weeks. Stop by to see its beauty Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
