FollowEscuela del Deporte de San Juan Class of 2014
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Working hard is my key of succes :)
Hi my name is Ashley Forde, and I'm about to start my sophomore year in the Escuela del Deporte de San Juan on the island of Puerto Rico. Since a very early age I have stand out in different school and community activities which have helped me to demonstrate my talents and help my neighbor making a difference in their lives. I'm known for being a very smart, caring, consistent, mature and wise person. Right now I’m a full time student and athlete. When much of the teenagers are desperate to get out of schools at 2 o’clock, I’m just in the middle of my day. I take all of my regular classes until 2:00pm and then I go to the court and practice tennis until 5:30pm. My weekends are very busy. If I’m not in a tennis tournament, I’m doing extracurricular activities and community service all over Puerto Rico.
‘Excellent’ is the best adjective to describe myself. I have a great interest in learning and I’m always going beyond my academic and sporting performances being integral. I’m committed with this task, which proves me as an example to others, those who admire and respect me. I’m a true agent of change, inspiring my whole school community.
I’m eager in conflict resolution, making me shine and bright in all subjects. My passion and interest in reading, writing, history, science, math, table tennis, tennis, fine arts and community service, justify that I use the word 'versatile'. One of my academics virtues is critical thinking. My ability to discuss, argue and persuade makes me a great speaker and leader. I support my points of views, not only with my knowledge gained through classes and investigations but with my remarkable scale of moral values which my parents have taught me.
I’ve shown an outstanding and active participation in the environmentalist Science Club Huellas, in the Drama Club, Photo Journalism, Speech and Debate Team. Over my years at the Escuela del Deporte de San Juan I’ve won several awards and recognitions. I’ve been Student of the Month more than ten times in a row, I’ve been part of the Honor Roll from 2008 to 2011 and I’ve been nominated for the Mayor’s Distinguished Scholarship Awards 2008-2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.
I truly believe that my human qualities are worthy of imitation. I’m a cooperative, mature and perseverant person since I fight for a better world. My family, friends and teachers are my north. To be focused always on the positive things and to fight for my convictions are my goals, but always keeping in mind to act honestly and trace horizons that invite others to follow.
