- 5884Hi Stacy! Great questions! AU is extremely close (1 hour away) to three large cities, Cleveland, Columbus and Akron. Also, Mansfield, Ohio which is about 20 minutes away has a mall and other retail options, dining and entertainment options. Plus, Ashland itself has a number of things to do! As for weather, this year we have been quite warm (just a dusting of snow) but will likely see some chillier temps soon. Our forecast for the next five days ranges from high's close to the 50's to a high at 20 degrees! Hope this information helps! Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

Here is more information on our Theatre department: http://www.ashland.edu/students/departments/theatre , I will look into the specific question about student-written plays but I know there would always be an opportunity for you to create an organization doing just that! Also, you are NOT required to be a Broadcast, Journalism or Digital Media Production major to be on the campus radio! It's great experience for anyone!
