Hi I'm Alana! I am currently a junior at NHS!
English is my favorite subject; I love reading, writing, and analyzing. I sing in two of Nutley's prestigious choirs, as well as perform in Nutley's musicals. Other things I love are fashion, poetry, French, and art (esp. Impressionism!).

- I earn a varsity letter every year for managing the spring track team at school.
- Interact Club 2010 to Now
- We reach out to students and parents around town and help them. For example, we helped serve a benefit for a child with a serious illness in June 2011.
- French Club 2009 to Now
- I recently started a pen pal exchange with French students in Grenoble through this club.
- Academics Team 2010 to Now
- More or less a Trivia Club. We participate in National Academic Quiz Tournament competitions.

- School Spring Musical 2009 to Now
- We are often nominated in the Papermill Playhouse Rising Star Awards. In June 2011, we won best musical direction for our production of Voltaire's Candide.

- Concert Choir 2007 to Now
- I have participated in Nutley's prestigious concert choir since 7th grade. We have performed at major singing competitions such as the Festival of Gold in San Francisco (April 2011) and concert venues, such as Carnegie Hall (April 2009). We are named as one of the top high school music programs in the country by the National Association of Music Merchants foundation (NAMM) (June 2011). Also, I have earned a varsity letter for choir.

- I'm pretty consistent with my volunteer work. Through Chamber Singers, Youth Group, and Interact Club, I am able to reach out to the community for various events, such as town and church ceremonies and events (Tree lightings, performances, cleaning churches, etc.) .

- Advanced, highly selective a capella choir. We have a difficult repertoire and perform a wide array of classical and contemporary music. Our ensemble has performed at Carnegie Hall alongside composer Tim Janis. I earn a varsity letter for this ensemble as well.

- Our winter musical similar to the Radio City Christmas Show. Broadway choreographers often come to teach us the Radio City choreography.
